In collaboration with the Nonprofit Support Network, Muncie Public Library is excited to introduce a grant writing program tailored for nonprofits in Muncie-Delaware County. Leveraging Candid's Foundation Directory Online, local expertise, and other valuable resources, this initiative aims to empower local nonprofits with the knowledge and skills to secure vital funding for their impactful projects.

Program Overview: Embark on a journey of grant writing excellence through this localized program. This unique learning experience spread across two interactive sessions, will guide nonprofit staff or volunteers through the entire grant lifecycle – from strategic grant-seeking to crafting compelling proposals and effective grant management. Each session is led by local professionals who have experience in various aspects of fundraising from grants. 

Program Dates:

  1. February 20, 2025 – Preparing and Seeking: Discover the important information your organization needs to know before seeking grants. Navigate Candid's Foundation Directory Online to identify relevant funding opportunities tailored to your organization's mission and goals. Learn effective search strategies to maximize your grant-seeking efforts.
  2. March 13, 2025– Writing and Managing: Hone your proposal writing skills with practical insights and hands-on exercises. Craft compelling proposals that resonate with funders, increasing your chances of securing vital grants for your organization. Understand compliance, reporting, and stewardship practices that strengthen your organization's relationship with funders.
  3. March 20, 2025 – Open Hours: Wrap up the series with an open session! Drop in or stay the whole time to ask your lingering questions about grant writing and management, get one-on-one guidance, and connect with peers to share insights and support.

This learning series will provide each participant with a dynamic and collaborative learning experience, leveraging the comprehensive grant database Candid's Foundation Directory Online. Tailored for nonprofits in Muncie-Delaware County, participants will benefit from expert guidance from experienced facilitators and industry professionals while learning with and from their peers.

Who Should Participate: This program is designed for nonprofit staff and volunteers eager to enhance their grant writing skills. Registration is limited to 25 participants. Organizations may enroll a maximum of two staff members. Participation in each of the sessions is expected.

Whether new to grant-seeking or looking to refine your approach, this program provides an ideal platform for honing your skills.
